Properly attach this aluminum mounting lug to a properly grounded metal surface and it providesan additional point to secure a grounding wire. This surface can be a grounded metal case, agrounded electrical panel, a grounded raceway box, a grounded trailer frame etc.

This is a UL approved ground connection device when correctly installed according to NEC requirements.
